Let's help move the Caribbean forward

Creating a sustainable future for our region requires more than just conversation. It takes action, partnership and long-term thinking. At CIBC Caribbean, we’re focused on supporting communities and businesses through investments that help build resilience and economic diversification.

As the region’s most trusted advisor, we’re helping to drive next-generation infrastructure projects; financing clean energy assets across the Caribbean and Central America; and developing innovative financing structures to support conservation efforts and climate adaptation.

Sustainable Finance in Action

Salterra Resort - Turks & Caicos Islands

CIBC Caribbean was the arranger, co-lender and key strategic financing partner for JEM Worldwide’s US$50 million loan facility which supported the redevelopment of Salterra Resort & Spa in South Caicos. This project is recognized for its significant impact on the local economy and tourism sector in TCI.

Debt-for-Climate Resilience Conversion - Barbados

Our bank, as lead arranger, successfully closed the Sustainability-Linked Loan transaction which aims to generate US$125 million in fiscal savings for the Government of Barbados. These savings are earmarked to be channeled into new resilience investments that will improve the island’s water security, upgrade sewerage systems and protect marine environments.

Public Hospitals Authority - The Bahamas

We’re proud to have served as lead arranger for a BS$75 million syndicated financing facility to the Public Hospitals Authority to enable completion of the Freeport Health Clinic and significant upgrades at Princess Margaret Hospital. The initiative will improve access to quality healthcare for communities across The Bahamas.

“In 2025, we advanced sustainability under the three pillars of our environmental, social and governance strategy — building integrity and trust, creating access to opportunities and accelerating climate action — by pairing measurable outcomes with a Culture of Care and continued focus on responsiveness to clients and communities.”

Mark St. Hill, Chief Executive Officer, CIBC Caribbean
